We BEE Stamping TEAM Blog Hop – Masterful Masking

Team Blog Hop Header

Hello and welcome to the We BEE Stamping TEAM Blog Hop featuring Masterful Masking techniques found on pages 124-125 in the annual Catalog.  For my card, I used a variation of the Block and Roll masking technique, substituting blending brushes for a brayer.

I used making paper to mask a border on Basic White cardstock and then applied Lemon Lolly, Pretty in Pink and Coastal Cabana inks using blending brushes.  This panel was mounted onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock and centered on a Smoky Slate card base.  I kept my stamping to a minimum in order to showcase my beautiful background.  I used the Sketched Butterflies Bundle for my greeting and butterfly accent.  I stamped the greeting using VersaMark ink, and heat set with white embossing powder.  Once the heat embossing cooled, I popped the greeting out with a banner die from the Stylish Shapes dies.  The butterfly is also heat embossed with black embossing powder. The greeting and butterfly were attached with Basic Black dimensionals.  I used Wink of Stella on the butterfly and finished off with some Iridescent Pearls.

Here's a look at the inside of the card with more butterflies in a rainbow of the inks that were used for the masking technique.
