May Color Inspiration Challenge

This was the May Color Inspiration Challenge for the We BEE Stamping TEAM. Shout-out to my upline, Linda Bauwin, for offering this challenge. Challenge colors for May were Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry and Granny Apple Green.

A color challenge is a creative prompt to make a card using specific colors. It’s designed to spark creativity by working outside your usual comfort zones, and let me tell you, these colors together were completely out of my comfort zone! However, I was determined to make a card using them.

I used Granny Apple Green for my dominate color and then Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry for my accent colors.

I used Painted Illusions Designer Series Paper for a contrast to the challenge colors. This was a previous Product of the Month offering and unfortunately is no longer available. Just a reminder that Product of the Month items are only available while supplies last. To keep my accent colors soft, I used a small blending brush to add Calypso Coral ink to the centers of two of the flowers and then added a very light application of Flirty Flamingo ink to the outer edges. The other flower was inked using a blending brush with Crushed Curry. The leaves were inked with Granny Apple Green ink.

I used the Lovely Arrangements Bundle for all the elements on my card. With this bundle, the stamps capture the beauty of blooms in a simple detailed line art, while the dies allow you to easily cut out flowers, leaves and labels. In keeping with the challenge colors, I added some Pearlized Faceted Circles, faceted pearly dots in a soft Calypso Coral hue.

I really wasn’t sure about these colors, but am pleasantly pleased with my card! Head to your craft table and let these challenge colors spark your imagination!
