Sketch Inspiration Consider Yourself Hugged

My upline, Linda Bauwin, offers a monthly team Sketch Inspiration and this was the sketch for May. Sketches act as a blueprint, detailing placement for layers, shapes and sentiments. Sketches can help you create cards quickly while encouraging your individual creativity. For my card, I basically stuck to the sketch, but added an additional layer and deleted one element (circle). This is the creative freedom a sketch offers.

I used several new Stampin’ Up! products for my card, New Designer Series Paper and new In Colors. I matted a piece of Artisan Sketched Garden Designer Series Paper to a piece of Basic Black cardstock. This designer series paper brings a black-and-white illustrated style to your projects with florals, stripes and dots. This paper is perfect for adding colors and textures to your crafting projects.

Using small blending brushes, I colored a section of the Artisan Sketched Garden Designer Series Paper with Misty Moonlight, Golden Glow and Crisp Cantaloupe inks. I then popped that out with a 1-7/8″ circle punch, added some black dimensionals and attached it to a Stylish Shapes circle. The greeting is from the Banner Saying stamp set and was was stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink. This stamp set has sentiments for just about every occasion and a coordinating punch. Purchase as a bundle and save 10%.

I added a strip of the Artisan Sketched Garden Designer Series Paper in a polka-dot pattern across my card, attached my greeting and then my circles. Crisp Cantaloupe 2026-2028 In Color dots complete my project.
