December We BEE Stamping TEAM Blog Hop- Simple Christmas Gifts

Welcome and thank you for "buzzing" over to my blog today!  This month's blog hop is about Simple Christmas Gifts.

I read somewhere that giving candles as a Christmas gift is not a very original idea.  I understand the writers viewpoint in thinking that not much thought goes into the process of choosing and presenting a candle as a gift.  However, I have some ideas on how to change what could be interpreted as a  hum-drum gift to a WOW gift.

First, you need to choose a candle scent that reflects the personally of the recipient.

I have my candle, but let's face it, putting this in a gift bag with tissue paper is not a very original or thoughtful gift.  So let's "jazz" things up with cardstock, Designer Series Paper and ribbon to go from a plain-Jane gift to a one-of-a-kind-just-for-you gift.

Yep, my candle is inside this custom made festive box.  I don't know about you, but I would love to receive anything inside such a cute box!

I covered a piece of chipboard and inserted it in the bottom of the box for extra stability.

I used Real Red cardstock for the box and then decorated the top with layers of Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz cardstock and Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper.  I stamped the Tags Tags Tags stamp with Mossy Meadow ink and colored the little elf shoes with Stampin' Blends.  Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added for a bit of whimsey.  The tag was popped out using the coordinating Trio of Tags die.  I used Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends to color the Purple Posy ribbon in the Playing with Ribbons Combo Pack.  The tag was attached using a piece of Real Red ribbon from the All the Trimming Ribbon Combo Pack.

The joy of giving comes from the heart, so get creative and show someone how much you care with  beautiful hand crafted packaging.

Sit back, relax and "hop" through all the posts to see a variety of simple Christmas gift ideas from my fellow We BEE Stampin Team members.
