Color Inspiration Challenge

Below is the April sketch and color challenge my upline, Linda Bauwin, put out for the month of April.

I wanted the colors to be the focal on my card and decided to use the Flowers Fair stamp, an Online Exclusive. This stamp features beautifully detailed line art which would let my rainbow of colors shine through.

I used blending brushes to add layers of Azure Afternoon, Daffodil Delight and Poppy Parade ink to a piece of Basic White cardstock. I stamped the Flowers Fair stamp with Versa Mark ink onto a piece of Vellum cardstock, applied black embossing powder and heat set.

To add the vellum to my inked cardstock I applied liquid glue to the back of the vellum and smeared it my finger and attached it to the colored cardstock. Vellum is see-through and using a tape runner or glue dots would have shown through, so liquid glue to the rescue! I then attached this to a piece of Basic Black cardstock. The greeting is from the Springtime Scenes, an Online Exclusive. That was also heat set with black embossing power and once cooled, I popped it out with the 1-3/4 inch circle punch and layered to a 1-7/8 inch Basic Black circle.

I love how this card turned out and can’t wait to send a rainbow of flowers to brighten someone’s day!
